Founded in 1985, Human Scale Education (HSE) is an education reform movement committed to small-scale learning communities. HSE works with schools, parents and educationists to promote human scale learning within a community.
The education of children and young people flourishes when it is built on positive, effective relationships within collaborative, sustainable communities. This has important implications for the scale of organisations and the number of people involved in learning and teaching.
There is growing concern about the emotional and social well being of children and young people. Human scale education brings together students of all ages and all aptitudes, offering a secure framework for learning academically, socially and emotionally within a small learning community.
