Equal Opportunities
At Stanley Park High School we are committed to ensuring that all students receive an education which provides equality of opportunity and freedom from discrimination. We seek to ensure that no student, parent, member of staff or visitor to the school receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of ethnicity, race, gender, special educational needs, sexual orientation, belief, social class, age or appearance. We firmly believe in providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our students so that they can learn in a comfortable and secure atmosphere.
Through ongoing education and training we aspire to promote an increased awareness and understanding of equality within the school community and as such celebrate all groups represented within it. We promote equality for all and discriminatory attitudes or actions are not tolerated. We constantly strive to remove any forms of indirect discrimination that may form barriers to learning and we challenge stereotyping and prejudice whenever it occurs.
We promote the principles of fairness and justice for all through the education that we provide in our school. The Equal Opportunities Policy applies to all students, staff, parent helpers, governors, visitors or contractors to Stanley Park High School. The Policy covers all aspects of school life including student admissions, learning and teaching, behaviour management, staff recruitment and career development, parental involvement and the role of the governing body. All members of the school community must be free from any form of harassment.
